Q1. What roles will be available?
For the 2013 scheme, roles will be available in our Academic, English Language Teaching and Education businesses.
Q2. What is the scheme about?
Successful applicants will learn about all aspects of our business and will experience life in our editorial, marketing, sales, production and administration teams. They will be given the opportunity and support to develop their management and wider business skills. Throughout their training, the graduates will take on real jobs with real responsibilities.
Q3. Why is the Press running a graduate recruitment scheme?
We employ lots of graduates but they tend to go into vacancies and work their way up in a particular function, for example editorial, marketing or production. The graduates on this scheme will move around the functions gaining experience in a variety of disciplines and by the time they finish in 18 months' time, they will have a broader view of publishing.

This is a time of great change and great opportunity in the world of publishing. Cambridge University Press is at the forefront of that change with an ever-expanding list of books, journals, apps, websites and blended courses all designed to help people learn in whatever format suits them best.

Q5. What kind of candidates are you looking for?
We are looking for people who are adaptable, innovative, forward thinking and with a 'can-do' attitude. We want people who can demonstrate their passion for publishing and for our brand and who have an ability to learn quickly and to work well in a team.
Q6. How long does the scheme last?
The scheme will last for 18 months.
Q7. How do I apply?
Applications for the 2013 Graduate Scheme have now closed. Vacancies for the 2014 Graduate Scheme will be advertised later this year. You will need to upload your CV and a covering letter as well as answer a number of questions. Further stages in the selection process include a telephone interview, psychometric tests and an assessment day.
Q8. When is the closing date for applications?
Applications for the 2013 Graduate Scheme have now closed. Vacancies for the 2014 Graduate Scheme will be advertised towards later this year, and these web pages will have all the details of closing deadlines, as well as dates for your diary.
Q9. What kind of degree do I need to apply?
You will need a minimum of a 2:1 (UK) or a Bachelor's degree (US).
Q10. Do I need to be a final year student or recent graduate to apply?
Preferably.
Q11. Can I apply for a role in the US if I live in the UK and vice versa?
You need to apply for a role in the country where you live and have authorisation to work, i.e. UK for UK roles and US for US roles.
Q12. How long does the scheme last?
The scheme will last for 18 months.
Q13. Where will I be based?
For the 2013 scheme, UK roles are based in Cambridge; US roles are based in New York.
Q14. What hours will I work?
Your contracted hours of work will be 35 per week Monday to Friday. The standard working day is 9am to 5pm. However, due to the nature of the scheme, you will need to be flexible to make the best of the learning opportunities available.
