Meet the Press Apprentices
At Cambridge University Press, we have an established apprentice programme in the UK, and we were recently awarded a certificate for Commitment to Apprenticeships by Cambridge Regional College.
What are Apprenticeships?
Apprenticeships combine practical training in a job with study, offering great opportunities both for the young people who undertake them and the businesses that employ them. They are often seen as an alternative to university for entering the working world.
What are the benefits?
Apprentices have the chance to work alongside experienced staff, gain job-specific skills, study towards a related qualification and earn money at the same time.
High quality apprenticeships can also address skills shortages. Motivated school leavers bring with them diverse talent, fresh thinking and digital skills which can help rejuvenate teams and enhance creativity.
We currently have six apprentices currently working in our UK office, in Communications, Customer Services, Recruitment and Technology. Our apprentices follow an induction programme, learning about various aspects of publishing and working at the Press.
Are you interested in an Apprenticeship?
If you would like to apply for an apprenticeship with us, keep a lookout for ‘Current jobs’ in these pages.
Vacancies for apprenticeships at the Press will appear in the job vacancies listing, here, so do check back regularly, or you can follow us on Twitter.
