Cambridge launches two new Explore Shakespeare iPad apps
Twelfth Night and A Midsummer Night's Dream are now available in the Explore Shakespeare series.
Cambridge University Press (publisher of the definitive texts of Shakespeare’s works) has joined forces with app developer Agant to present the greatest works of literature in the English language on the iPad.
Macbeth, Romeo and Juliet, and now Twelfth Night and A Midsummer Night's Dream have been reimagined for iPad, with illuminating visuals, helpful commentary and compelling audio performance, with stars like Michael Sheen and Kate Beckinsale.
Readers will be able to experience the plays with over 100 performance photos, from many professional productions spread over decades, with stars like David Tennant, Ian McKellen and Judy Dench. Other features include ‘unique circles’ showing how characters are related and who is on stage for each scene and ‘character stories’ showing what Juliet knows or what Macbeth has seen.
The content for the apps is based on the bestselling Cambridge School Shakespeare and New Cambridge Shakespeare.
Take a look at the video below for more information on the Explore Shakespeare apps, which can be downloaded via the App Store or iTunes.
To celebrate the apps, Cambridge has an iPad bundle to give way in the Explore Shakespeare competition; to enter the competition click here. Competition closes on 28 February 2013.
