Semináře se budou konat každý měsíc od října do června školního roku 2007/2008 v budově Prague Schools s.r.o., Evropská 35, Praha 6.
Semináře povedou zkušení zahraniční lektoři Corina Craciun a Laura Moulton.
Seminář bude vždy rozdělen na dvě části – část metodickou a část jazykovou. Účastník obdrží vždy potvrzení o absolvování semináře.
Na každý seminář je nutno se registrovat na prague@cambridge.org

Corina Craciun
Corina Craciun has been working as a TEFL teacher for 6 years. She has taught English and French in Romania, Turkey and The Czech Republic and began her teacher training career in Istanbul. She gained the Cambridge Diploma in 2005 and has participated at various international conferences. She is also a certified Cambridge oral examiner.
Laura Moulton
Before joining Prague Schools in 2003, Laura, who specialises in phonology, worked as a teacher in Prague, where she gained the Cambridge Diploma. She has also worked in London and Japan and has presented workshops at several EFL conferences. Outside of work, Laura enjoys cycling and snowboarding and finds the Czech Republic the ideal terrain in which to hone her skills.

Multiple Intelligences in Teaching English / The English Tense System – What Do You Need to Know?

An overview of Gardner's theory of multiple intelligences, learner styles and how to address these in our lessons using the activities in Cambridge books for young learners.In these sessions we will look at the different motivational factors affecting your students, examine their learning styles and look at various activities aimed at helping all different types of learner, both in and out of the classroom.
In the language part, we are going to explore the meaning, use and form of the main tenses and consider how best to convey these to the learner.

Business English for Beginners / Authentic materials - do you use them in class?

We'll look at the differences between a General English course and a Business English course at a very low level, and how we can teach business English without having an educational/professional background in business at all!What does teaching Business English mean? Can only people with a background in economics teach it? We'll look at a number of theoretical considerations about teaching Business English and things we need to take into account if we have a group of students - or one student - primarily interested in this.
In the second part of the workshop, we're going to look at a number of different types of materials and how we can adapt them for class use.

It this session we will look at using authentic listening texts - why it is important, how to approach and set them up, what 'problems' students and teachers have/perceive and how these can be addressed, and also how to incorporate/integrate listening skills development into other lesson types.

In this session we will be looking at the importance of English-English dictionaries in the EFL classroom and also as a tool for increasing learner autonomy. We will also look at various classroom and self-study activities for a range of levels.

Use Cambridge Books for Cambridge Exams / Task-based activities

We're going to look at the structure of the Cambridge exams and see a number of ways in which we can plan and incorporate activities in any lesson, whether it is exam preparation or a General English course. We´ll look at a number of speaking activities and how we should adapt and set them up effectively in order to make them work.

What things do we need to take into consideration when teaching in a company / teaching phrasal verbs: we´ll start with a demo lesson and we´ll then work our way through the different types of phrasal verbs and how we can best teach them.

Songs and stories for the 1st stage of a Basic School

Looking at how music and song in the EFL classroom can increase our students' confidence in listening, encourage learner autonomy and present/practice a range of language points. We will, of course, also do lots of fun activities for a range of levels/ages, as well as playing some great music. You can bring your dancing shoes/karaoke microphone if you want to, but it's not essential!

Škola je přímo u stanice tramvají č.2,20,26 Hadovka. Vystoupíte-li z tramvaje a přejdete na stranu k vysokému paneláku, v přízemí uvidíte samoobsluhu. Po pravé straně jsou venkovní schody, vedoucí napříč budovou. V mezipatře těchto schodů je po levé straně zvonek Prague TEFL.
