Phoning a hotel

Teacher's notes

This activity focuses on how to speak about hotel facilities in a realistic situation. All students get the chance to practice this kind of language within the given framework.

Students A will need page 1 & page 2.

Students B will need page 3 & page 4.

Explain the activity to the class, then divide the students into 2 groups. At the beginning of the activity give students A page 1 and students B page 3. Students read their instructions and the useful expressions. Get a good pair to act out the beginning of the phone call to the class as an example. Then put all the students in pairs (back-to-back) to act out their conversations.

Then students change roles. Students A will need page 2 and students B will need page 4.

Monitor the activity and give feedback afterwards.
