Tests
Pre-test
The pre-test allows teachers to assess how ready students are to undertake the Writers at Work course. It tests students on material that will come up in the book and has students provide a sample of their writing.
Midterm
The midterm is designed to be given after students have completed the first five chapters of Writers at Work: The Paragraph and Writers at Work: The Short Composition and the first three chapters of Writers at Work: The Essay. It assesses how well students have understood the material up to that point. A writing sample gives teachers the opportunity to assess whether students are able to apply what they have learned.
Final
The final is designed to be given at the end of the course. It assesses how well students have understood the material throughout the book. The final writing sample, produced under test conditions, allows teachers to assess students' exit level writing proficiency. Download Tests and Answer Keys
