The Manifestations of Mental Disorder
Mental health research is moving steadily away from the traditional focus on diseases and clinical syndromes to look more closely at individual mental symptoms. In keeping with this trend it is appropriate for texts in the field to adopt a similar overview of individual symptoms ranging from delusions and hallucinations to dissociative behaviours. Experts from around the world have been carefully selected as volume editors, and each seeks not only to evaluate and integrate the different research strands and models of a particular symptom but also to formulate new questions for the future. Providing comprehensive coverage, from the newest conceptual and phenomenological descriptions and models to critical review of the latest state-of-the-art methodology in genetics and neuroimaging, this series will appeal to professionals from a wide range of disciplines in mental health and beyond.
