TestCrafter Updates

Version 1.0 Update Available

An update for version 1.0 that allows teachers to administer tests online is now available.

Before you begin:

• You will need to be able to install software on your computer to update TestCrafter. Please consult with your computer support department if you can’t install software on your computer.
• You will need Adobe Reader to read the User’s Guide.
• You will need a zip file utility. If your operating system does not already have one, download a trial version of WinZip or a trial version of StuffIt.
• You must have the original TestCrafter installed on your computer for the updater to work. Do not uninstall the original TestCrafter prior to running the update. Be sure TestCrafter is not running before you start the update.

To update your copy of TestCrafter please follow these instructions:

Windows

1. Click on the link above labeled Version 1.0 Update (Windows) to save the file on your computer.
   • If clicking on the link does not save the file on your computer, right-click on the link and select "Save Target As..." or "Save Link As..." Choose where you would like to save the file and click "Save."
2. When downloading finishes, locate the file. It will be named TouchstoneTestCrafterUpdaterExtractor.zip. Double-click it. Follow the instructions of your zip file utility, or select "Extract All...".from the File menu. Choose a location to save the uncompressed file, TouchstoneTestCrafterUpdaterExtractor.exe.
3. Now double-click the TouchstoneTestCrafterUpdaterExtractor.exe icon. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the update.
4. Note that after you have installed the update, there may be two icons for the program on your desktop. Please use the icon that says Touchstone TestCrafter – Teacher to open the program. If you also see an icon that only says Touchstone TestCrafter, please delete it: it will not open the updated program.
5. When you open TestCrafter again the update will take effect. The Print options screen will now include the Online Options.

Mac

1. Click on the link labeled Version 1.0 Update (Mac) to save the file on your computer.
   • If clicking on the link does not save the file on your computer, either (1) hold down the apple or control key and click on the link, or (2) click on the link and hold. A menu will appear. Click on "Download Linked File" and choose where you wish to save it.
2. When downloading finishes, locate the file. It will be named TouchstoneTestCrafterUpdater.zip. Double-click it. Follow the instructions of your zip file utility. Choose a location to save the uncompressed file, Touchstone TestCrafter Updater.
3. Now double-click the Touchstone TestCrafter Updater icon. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the update.
