Can I print the pictures?

Yes, you can print the pictures, with accompanying questions and annotations, from the Display screen. You can also print the pictures, without the questions, by double clicking on the picture on the Display screen then clicking on the print button in the bottom-left corner of the screen. When printing pictures without questions and annotations the picture’s copyright line will also be printed.

What age / Key Stage are the Picture Collections suitable for?

KS3, GCSE and A Level. Both on-screen questions and printable worksheets are differentiated for use with different age groups.

Can I save annotated images and image sequences?

Yes, you can save your/your students’ work to a location of your choice: on your hard drive or on the school server if you want to share your saved work with colleagues.

Can the pupil recordings be saved?

Yes. As above.

Can I build a lesson, save it and use it over again and share it with colleagues?

Yes. You just need to save it to a networked server so that saved files can be accessed by others in your department.

Can I add my own photos – of drama work in class or a school production?

Yes, you do this by clicking on the ‘Import images’ button on the Main menu (please refer to the ‘Importing your own images’ section of our help notes).

Are the Picture Collections suitable for individual use as well as for whole-class teaching?

Yes, the software can be used independently by students on individual computers as well as by large teacher-led groups using interactive whiteboards. The on-screen and printable activities comprise a range of tasks suitable for individual, pair, small-group and whole-class work.

Are there line/cross references to the Cambridge School Shakespeare books?

Yes, in all on-screen questions and teachers’ support material, where relevant.

Do I need to purchase a network licence for the Picture Collections?

No, the price (£175 + VAT) includes a network site licence.

How many images are there from how many different productions?

Each disc contains over 75 images from at least 10 different productions.

Are the Picture Collections editable?

Yes. You can annotate images, add your own on-screen captions/questions and record audio to accompany images. You can also create your own bespoke image pairs and sequences. In addition, the student worksheets are provided in an editable format.

What advantages do the CSS Picture Collections have over the competition?

  • More photographs – at least 75 on every disc
  • A greater range of productions – at least 10 on every disc (sometimes many more)

  • A wider range of printable support material (over 100 pages including differentiated editable worksheets and production review notes)

Who wrote the questions?

The Picture Collections have all been created by Cambridge School Shakespeare authors (see below), who are all experienced English/Drama teachers. The authors selected and organised the photographs, and wrote the on-screen questions and teachers’ support materials.

Can I use the Picture Collections with the Cambridge School Shakespeare editions only?

No, you can use the discs with any edition of the plays, although line references are to the Cambridge edition.

Can this software be deployed on an RM CC3 network or Windows server 2000/2003 network?

This software does support RM Community Connect 3 networks and Windows server 2000/2003 networks. Note: For network deployment, please use the MSI that is located in the folder win on the disc (rather than the MSI that is located in the root directory of the CD).

Is the Picture Collection Windows Vista compatible?

Macbeth version 1.00 is Windows Vista Compatible.

Much Ado about Nothing, Romeo and Juliet and The Tempest version 1.00 are not Vista compatible, however future versions will be.

If you have already purchased any of these three components and you wish to receive a Vista compatible version once this becomes available, please email a request to techsupport@cambridge-hitachi.com with your personal/institutional information, postal address and invoice number.
