'Students of all abilities find the materials accessible and respond very well to them. This has increased their confidence and is leading to improved performance in the classroom, which we are sure will be reflected in their examination results'

'We chose the texts because they were the most interesting mathematically and the most fun. We have not been let down - they are excellent.'
Chris Mullen, Head of Mathematics, Queen Katherine School, Kendal
'The structure is very good and give us flexibility - with three interchangeable tiers, the children can move groups but carry on with the same work. The staff and pupils are enthusiastic about SMP Interact. The pupils enjoy the presentation of the books and the teachers find the teacher's guides supportive. I know the guides are always in use because I can never find one! I am very pleased with it.'
Pete Jameson, Head of Maths, Ixworth Middle School, Suffolk
'Since we started using SMP Interact in 2000, we have seen an increase in our results for the end of Key Stage tests. Students achieving Level 5 and above has risen from 67% in 2000 to 72% in 2002, and students achieving Level 6 and above has risen from 36% to 41% over the same period. We are very pleased.'
Sue King, Oulder Hill Community School, Rochdale

'These are attractive books, of a convenient size and weight, which invite the students to read further on and which provide interesting real-life context questions. There are clearly defined objectives for each chapter, plenty of questions of increasing challenge and invaluable assessment at the end of the topic. Frequent investigation ideas provide suggestions for extension and display work.

These are thoughtfully written, imaginative texts, which maintain a rigorous approach and which are enjoyable for both students and staff. My students have particularly enjoyed 'Chocolate' (a mouth-watering way to understand equivalent fractions) and 'Cross-sections' ('sawing' people in half and lowering objects into water). The data handling topics are dealt with using a variety of contexts and are always interesting. My favourite sections are those dealing with algebra - 'Walls' and 'Strips' have given plenty of challenging practice and have stimulated problem solving skills.'
