    This book offers a good and in-depth survey of MHD, with a parallell treatment of laboratory- and astrophysical plasma conditions. For a introductory course in plasma physics, however, this book can serve as a supplementary book. A more comprehensive book is needed in addition. Some chapters of this book demands a rather advanced mathematical analysis, so a good background in mathematics is required. A big plus for the kinetic approach of deriving the macroscopic equations from the Boltzmanns equations. Many plasma physics/mhd books lack this approach.
