Myths and Storytelling
"Storytelling is one of the most important, most humane, most liberating and most democratic things that human beings can do, and it should have a central place in every classroom."
-Philip Pullman

War with Troy: The Story of Achilles
is a new audio retelling of the Trojan War on CD, specially created for children and particularly aimed at developing children’s speaking, listening, and literacy skills. The exciting, timeless story is told by two of the United Kingdom's leading storytellers, Hugh Lupton and Daniel Morden.

For ease of use , the story content is divided into 12 episodes, each lasting about 15 minutes and every episode is broken down into further sub-sections. Starting with the competition for the Golden Apple, the story traces the ups and downs of the last year of the war, and ends with the Wooden Horse and fall of Troy.

For the classroom, a version is available with an accompanying Teacher’s Guide. This includes photocopiable illustrations based on original Greek vases, a full transcript of the story, and teaching suggestions for each individual episode

War with Troy: The Story of Achilles is now available from Cambridge University Press.
