Cambridge Studies in Social and Emotional Development

The study of development has shifted from a focus on the child to an interest in development over the lifespan. Although developmental psychology used to be centred on cognitive growth, now social, clinical, and educational psychologists, child psychiatrists, anthropologists, sociologists, and students of animal behaviour are actively engaged in exploring the developmental roots of social behaviour and emotional experience. The purpose of this series of books is to highlight the best new work and, further, to help bridge the present gaps in communication among disciplines and between basic and applied researchers.
