Feature type: island

This name ends below island #85. My inclination is to imagine that it refers to the island to the left with a dab of red on it (thus suggesting a longer, rather than shorter, name). Consequently, I am much less inclined than Miller 603-604 to trust Welser (1598; see Plate 4), who shows that island with the name Icaria, and then a further island to its right named Lesbos; I see no trace of the name Icaria, nor of a further island.
Miller's lithograph (498) has no justification for coloring the entire island. Rather, there is only a dab of red on it, which probably reflects no more than carelessness on the copyist's part. Observe similar miscellaneous dabs to the left (above Cortin[.]), and to the right above Blenna (8C2).
