LASA 2021

Welcome

Hello and welcome! We hope that you and families are keeping well in the era of social distancing. In light of COVID-19 we've decided to take our exhibit stands online. It’s not like being at the event in person, but we hope it offers at least some semblance of normality during this challenging time. Below you will find a list of the books we would have had on display, as well as information on who to contact if you are interested in publishing with us. We've also increased our online discount so that being at home doesn't mean you have to miss out on conference prices, if you're in the market for a good book that is. If not, then perhaps just close your eyes for a moment and pretend you’re in the exhibit hall, about to head off to the wine reception or grab a coffee….

And now that you've got yourself that all important drink, how about a quick word from one of our editors:

Message from the Editors

Cecelia Cancellaro: I commission books in US and Latin American history and oversee the Afro Latin America series (edited by Alejandro de la Fuente and George Reid Andrews) and the Cambridge Latin American Studies series (edited by Kris Lane and Matthew Restall). I would love to hear from LASA attendees about new book projects.

Sara Doskow: I commission books in Latin American & comparative politics, as well as sociology; I also work closely with the academic editors of the Cambridge Elements series Politics and Society in Latin America. Some wonderful new books published over the last year. We hope that you will enjoy engaging with these. Please do not hesitate to get in touch if you would like to discuss a new book project.

Alyssa Neumann:I’m very sorry to miss all the wonderful conversations at the Cambridge booth this year. I hope you will take advantage of our book discounts and free access to Latin American Studies journal articles. If you have an idea for a new journal project that would fit well in our list, I’d love to hear from you and offer any advice you may need on the next steps. We hope to see you in person next year! twitter: ABNeumann

Journals

We are delighted that from the start of 2022 Latin American Research Review will be published in partnership with the Press. Cambridge University Press and Latin America Research Commons, the publishing arm of Latin American Studies Association are working together to ensure the continued excellence of this flagship journal, both now & in the future.

If journals are more your thing, then here are a few that we think might be of particular interest.

Conference Offers

30% Discount

We have increased our online discount to 30% to match the offer that would have been available to delegates at our conference stand.  Regrettably, the online offer is limited to certain countries (for the full list of the countries included in the offer please see  www.cambridge.org/conferencediscount ), however our customer services team are more than happy to accept orders offline and will honour the discount for customers in all countries where trading sanctions do not apply.  Please contact orders@cambridge.org with your order details and reference the conference discount code noted below.
