Originally published in 1859, as the fourth edition of a 1660 original, this book contains the text of the Select Discourses of the theologian John Smith. Smith covers a variety of religious topics in these essays, including superstition, atheism and the existence and nature of God. The text is edited by Henry Griffin Williams, and includes a biography of Smith as read at his funeral by Symon Patrick, later Bishop of Ely.
