Cambridge Studies in Semiconductor Physics and Microelectronic Engineering

Cambridge Studies in Semiconductor Physics and Microelectronic Engineering will contain books on all aspects of semiconductors, from materials at one end of the scale through to VLSI circuits at the other. The interdependence of the physics and the ultimate application of the device is increasing as devices become both smaller and more functional, and the purpose of the Series is to give the reader a comprehensive and unified picture of modern microelectronics, from its basis in fundamental physics to its application in devices. Books in the series will therefore cover the fundamental physics underlying the properties of semiconductor materials and structures, materials growth, properties and characterisation techniques, and the fabrication and applications of devices and circuits. Books will be written at beginning postgraduate level and upwards, and will be of value to scientists and engineers working in electronics research laboratories, as well as to those involved in research in universities. The topics covered will be of interest to physicists, materials scientists and electronic engineers. Certain titles may also be used for specialised undergraduate courses.

General Editors: Haroon Ahmad, University of Cambridge; Michael Pepper, University of Cambridge; Alec Broers
