Please come and join us at one of the following three events.  We will be introducing you to Testbank - authentic online test preparation for Cambridge English Exams, and to Cambridge English Empower - our latest adult course with validated assessment from Cambridge English Language Assessment.

We will be exploring blended learning, learning orientated assessment and looking at the technology that makes it all easy.  Everyone attending will be given free access to Testbank to experience the Cambridge Learning Management System.

Each event will follow the same format, to register please email, and let us know whether you want to attend in Sankt Gallen, Berne or Winterthur.  Please also update us with the name of the school you work for.

Session 1: Talk (60 minutes): Combining Classroom & Virtual Learning for Exam Success: It's all about the blend.

Abstract: Blended learning is not just about technology in and out of the classroom, but also  - probably even more importantly - about how to reach and teach students more effectively.  It helps learners become more autonomous and accept more responsibility for their learning outcomes.  In this workshop, we will look at three integral elements of the process of blended learning - the learner, the teacher and the pedagogy - and discuss the effect digital learning materials have on the roles of the participants of the process and curriculum design.   You will also find out how the Cambridge English Practice Testbank can be used alongside your current exam preparation course to offer the most authentic online test preparation for Cambridge English exams.

Session 2: Workshop (60 minutes): Empower - and Engage! - Your Students

English undeniably opens many doors for our students, from improving career prospects to making travel, or further study easier, the benefits are clear.  However powerful the message, we still need to find ways to engage our students' interest and make language learning a relevant and memorable experience, enabling them to reach their personal and professional goals.  We will be looking at Cambridge English Empower, a new general adult course that combines course content from Cambridge University Press with validated assessment from Cambridge English Language Assessment.  The course syllabus is carefully benchmarked to the CEFR ensuring that students encounter the most relevant and useful language at the right point in their learning.  It also provides a unique mix of engaging classroom materials, validated and reliable assessment, and personalised online practice.
