Asia-Pacific Signal and Information Processing Association and Cambridge University Press launch new Open Access journal

The Asia-Pacific Signal and Information Processing Association (APSIPA) and Cambridge University Press are pleased to announce the launch of the APSIPA Transactions on Signal and Information Processing – a groundbreaking new Open Access journal that will serve as an international forum for signal and information processing researchers across a broad spectrum of research, ranging from traditional modalities of signal processing to emerging areas where either (i) processing reaches higher semantic levels (e.g. from speech recognition to multimodal human behaviour recognition), or (ii) processing is meant to extract information from datasets that are not traditionally considered signal (i.e. mining of internet or sensor information).

Professor Sadaoki Furui from Tokyo Institute of Technology, President of APSIPA, said, “APSIPA was set up to foster global as well as regional interaction and collaboration on research and education in signal and information processing. As one of the leading publishers in the world, Cambridge has worked with many of the top researchers in our community. The new APSIPA Transactions on Signal and Information Processing will benefit from Cambridge’s advanced digital publishing technology and extensive resources to offer the community a fresh and impactful avenue to disseminate their work.”

All articles will be published under the Creative Commons license, with authors retaining copyright. Upon acceptance of a paper, authors pay a one-off processing fee to cover the costs of reviewing, producing, hosting and archiving the article. Publishing an article in this Open Access journal means that your article will be freely accessible online, ensuring its visibility and citability throughout your research community. An introductory processing fee of just $600 USD is offered for all paper accepted in 2012.

See our Article Processing Charges FAQ for more information.

This quality peer-reviewed journal is overseen by an international team of distinguished and leading experts on the Advisory and Editorial Boards. The APSIPA Transactions on Signal and Information Processing will be led by Editor-in-Chief, Professor Antonio Ortega from the University of Southern California.
