Africa Bibliography Introductory Essays

Articles of 5,000-8,000 words on topics relating to research, libraries, archives and publishing in and on Africa, and in African studies, are invited. Usually one such article is published annually  with the print and online version of Africa Bibliography, a major reference resource published by the International African Institute and Cambridge University Press ( Recent topics have included: reflections on the state of the discipline of African studies; publishing histories and case studies; digital research repositories at African institutions; digital bibliographies and libraries; library services and national libraries; journals publishing in the African continent; book publishing, trade and distribution. Contributions from researchers and practitioners (librarians, publishers, archivists, other information specialists) working in Africa are particularly welcome.
