Post publication impact

Promoting your article

We encourage authors to actively promote their articles globally to their colleagues and fellow researchers. Cambridge University Press provides a suite of resources to help you engage with your readership, increase your visibility and make your article more discoverable online.

The published document may be included in media, social media. Consider generating a video abstract to promote interest in your manuscript.

Video Abstracts

AJEE supports authors constructing a video abstract for the publication.

Some guidelines for generating your video abstract follow:

  • People are more likely to watch shorter videos than longer ones – so keeping it under 4 minutes is a good idea.
  • Provide an overview of the context, background, what you did and what you found. You might want to highlight the research questions.
  • Can you draw out the implications for an environmental education practice?
  • If you can avoid it being just you talking to the camera – great. Can you include imagery?
  • It’s not necessary to have the references listed at the end (like scrolling credits).
  • Avoid using jargon, making it more accessible to a non-academic audience.
  • Please include the transcript for the video – to embed closed captions.

Provide the abstract video the AJEE Assistant Editor.

Sharing your article

Cambridge University Press supports responsible social sharing of published research. This journal participates in Cambridge Core Share, a tool that enables readers to easily generate links to online, read-only journal articles that can be freely shared on social media sites and scholarly collaboration networks.

Please also check the details of your publishing agreement and our Green Open Access policy for details of how you may share the full text of your article.

Impact of individual articles

Cambridge Core displays Altmetric Attention Scores to help authors and readers see how much attention an article is getting online. These are displayed alongside the article's title in the journal's table of contents. Please see our guide to Altmetric for more information.
