Optical fibre could serve as a gain medium, a nonlinear path and a delivery tool for high power lasers. Novel specialty optical fibres have been widely used in high power fibre lasers, fibre based novel sources, compact laser systems, etc. Technical advances in fibre design and fabrication have placed fibre based light sources in a forefront of many applications. Research efforts on specialty fibres continue to mitigate identified challenges and deliver new ways to manipulate light. In this special edition of High Power Laser Science and Engineering, we would like to invite submission of original manuscripts dedicated to “Fibres for High Power Lasers”.
The scope of the special edition will span the latest research and reviews on, but not exclusively, the following topics:
