Badgers and bovine tuberculosis: a reappraisal of aetiology and pathogenesis

The badger culling component of the cattle tuberculosis (TB) eradication scheme has been controversial from the outset. Despite the apparent complexity of the issue, and ever expanding literature, it is perhaps worth highlighting several basic key aspects in need of an urgent reappraisal.
