Announcing a new feature for the Journal of Fluid Mechanics, launching in 2016.
JFM Perspectives are intended to be critical surveys of the state of a particular topic written by a leading expert. Perspectives will typically be around 50-70 pages long and structured so that a person entering the specific field without specialist knowledge can access and understand the key results and the current major research questions. Perspectives will draw from the whole of fluid mechanics, and will be written at invitation of the editorial board.
About six Perspectives are planned to be published annually.
