Ultra-high field physics with lasers

Ultra-high field physics with lasers collection

Special Issue Editors:

Gianluca Sarri

We would like to call your attention to a Special Collection of Journal of Plasma Physics edited by Gianluca Sarri (Queen’s University Belfast) and Felix Mackenroth (Chalmers University) entitled: Ultra-high field physics with lasers: experimental status and theoretical modeling.

Felix Mackenroth

Journal of Plasma Physics is creating a new Special Collection on the topic of Ultra-high field physics with lasers: experimental status and theoretical modeling. This collection aims at providing an overview of the current status of research activity in the field of laser-driven ultra-high field physics with particular emphasis to the exciting experimental opportunities that will be available with the near-future advent of multi-PW laser facilities.

This Collection seeks to gather input from both the experimental and theoretical communities; from the experimental point of view, the journal seeks contributions focused on various aspects of ultra-high field laser-driven experiments ranging from the development of the next generation of multi-PW laser facilities and related experimental diagnostics/techniques, to results of laboratory experiments devoted to addressing specific issues in performing the next generation of laser-driven experiments.

From the theoretical point of view, the Journal encourages submissions focused on the fundamental and numerical understanding of the various phenomena expected to occur during the interaction of a ultra-high intensity laser with single particles, beams, or plasmas.

We propose a submission deadline of June 1st, 2016 and papers will be published online as soon as they are ready.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch with Gianluca Sarri (g.sarri@qub.ac.uk) for experimentally oriented submissions or Felix Mackenroth (felix.mackenroth@chalmers.se) for purely theoretically oriented ones.

Indexing and arXiv

All articles published in JPP are included in all major indexes, including ADS, ISI, and Scopus. Furthermore, JPP works with arXiv to ensure that any preprints posted on the arXiv are automatically linked to the final version of record when published in JPP. We encourage all JPP authors to post their preprints on the arXiv.
