Hetero n-i-p-i Structures for Nonlinear Optics and for Studies of Charge Carrier Transport

Abstract

The use of large optical nonlinearities in hetero n-i-p-i structures to study charge carrier transport is discussed. A short history of hetero n-i-p-i's and a summary of related semiconductor microstructures are also presented.
