Craniofacial malformations have long been associated with a heightened risk of psychiatric disorders. Understanding this link is crucial, as it can inform early intervention and support for affected individuals, enhancing their overall well-being. Research in this area aims to shed light on the prevalence and nature of these disorders within the craniofacial population, ultimately improving healthcare and quality of life for affected individuals.
Objectives
This study aims to establish a comprehensive understanding of the relationship between craniofacial malformations and psychiatric disorders. Specifically, our objectives include: assessing prevalence, identifying risk factors, evaluating impact and informing clinical practice. This research aims to improve the holistic care and mental well-being of individuals with craniofacial malformations, contributing to a more comprehensive approach in the field of psychiatry.
Methods
This cross-sectional study was conducted at a prominent referral hospital named Hospital de Clínicas de Porto Alegre during the month of August 2023.
Participant Selection: Patients with craniofacial malformations of all ages and both genders.
Data Collection: We conducted structured interviews with participants to gather demographic information, medical history, and details of their craniofacial conditions.
Medical Records Review: Medical records were reviewed to corroborate craniofacial diagnoses and identify any comorbid conditions.
Statistical Analysis: Data were analyzed using appropriate statistical techniques to assess the association between craniofacial malformations and psychiatric disorders.
Ethical Considerations: The study adhered to all ethical guidelines, with informed consent obtained from participants or their legal guardians. Ethical approval was obtained from the hospital’s Institutional Review Board.
Data Handling: Confidentiality and data security were ensured throughout the study, with all data anonymized to protect participant privacy.
Results
In our study, we assessed 132 different patients, comprising 62 females and 70 males. The youngest patient was 2 months old, while the oldest was 56 years old. The mean age of the patients was 16.22 years, with a median of 9 years, a harmonic mean of 18 years, and a standard deviation of 15.23 years.
Among the patients, 24 exhibited psychiatric disorders, evenly split between 12 males and 12 females. Their average age was 16.21 years, with a median of 10 years, a harmonic mean of 6.13, and a standard deviation of 14.57. The youngest patient with evidence of a psychiatric disorder was 2 years old.

Conclusions
Our study underscores the prevalence of psychiatric disorders among craniofacial patients, which seems to be greater than the general population, emphasizing the need for integrated care that considers both medical and psychological aspects, thus enhancing the overall well-being of these individuals.
There are differences in clinical presentation with and without insomnia in MDD, and it is expected that there are brain biological differences that contribute to this, but functional MRI studies of MDD with insomnia vs MDD without insomnia are scarce. In particular, few studies have examined resting state functional connectivity (RSFC) seeding the habenula and septal nuclei, which play key roles in both mood and sleep.
Objectives
The purpose of this study is to determine whether there are differences in habenula and septal nuclei and RSFC in the presence or absence of clinically significant insomnia in patients with MDD.
Methods
To identify the effects of insomnia in MDD group, one-way ANCOVA covariate control was used to compare differences of RSFC between MDD_w/INS and MDD_wo/INS group. The potential confounders (i.e., age, sex, education years, and total score of HDRS-17) were adjusted in this analysis. To examine the relationship between RSFC and clinical sleep questionnaires (i.e., ISI and PSQI) in the participants with MDD, Pearson’s partial correlation analysis controlling same potential confounders was performed by using Fisher-transformed correlation coefficients and scores of ISI and PSQI. For comparing the difference of RSFC between MDD and HC, the analysis was also performed with ANCOVA controlling for age, sex, education years.
Results
The analysis in this study included 36 in the MDD_w/INS group, 21 participants in the MDD_wo/INS group, and 38 in the healthy controls (HC) group. The main finding of this study was that MDD with insomnia showed increased RSFC in Habe_L - Rolandic_Oper_R, Habe_L - Cuneus_R, Habe_R - Thal_Pul_R, and decreased RSFC in Septal - Cerebellum_Crus1_R compared to MDD without insomnia. All regions with significant results were significantly correlated with insomnia severity.
Conclusions
Since the RSFC of all pairs of regions that showed significant differences between the two groups in this study were significantly correlated with insomnia severity (i.e., ISI score), the association of these regions with insomnia in MDD is supported. The significance of this study is that there have been studies that have examined the RSFC in fMRI for insomnia, but there are few studies on MDD with insomnia, and since the habenula and septal nuclei play an important role in insomnia, sleep, and mood, it is meaningful to seed fMRI studies on these areas.
Craniofacial surgery is a specialized field that addresses congenital and acquired deformities of the head and face. While the physical outcomes of craniofacial surgery are well-documented, less attention has been given to the psychological well-being of adult patients. This abstract aims to explore self-esteem issues among adult patients treated at the Craniofacial Surgery Sector of HCPA (Hospital de Clínicas de Porto Alegre), where a substantial proportion of adult patients have reported self-esteem problems.
Objectives
1. To assess the prevalence of self-esteem issues among adult patients (≥18 years old) attending the HCPA Craniofacial Surgery Sector.
2. To examine potential contributing factors to self-esteem problems in this specific patient population.
3. To evaluate the impact of self-esteem on the mental health and psychosocial functioning of adult craniofacial surgery patients.
4. To propose recommendations for psychosocial support and intervention strategies tailored to the needs of adult patients in this context.
Methods
This cross-sectional study involved 132 adult patients who had undergone or were scheduled for craniofacial surgery at HCPA. Participants reported self-esteem issues in their talk with the hospital’s physicians, and their medical records were reviewed to collect demographic and clinical data. Additionally, participants provided information about their mental health status and psychosocial functioning.
Results
Among the 39 adult patients included in the study, 37 (94.9%) reported experiencing self-esteem issues, such as lack of confidence or feeling unattractive. The most commonly reported contributing factors were visible facial differences, social interactions, and prior surgical experiences. Patients with lower self-esteem had a higher likelihood of reporting symptoms of depression and anxiety and reported lower overall psychosocial functioning compared to those with higher self-esteem.
Conclusions
This reveals a strikingly high prevalence of self-esteem issues among adult patients attending the Craniofacial Surgery Sector at HCPA. These findings underscore the importance of recognizing and addressing the psychological well-being of adult craniofacial surgery patients. Comprehensive psychosocial support, including counseling, peer support, and interventions to enhance self-esteem, should be integrated into the care of these patients. By addressing self-esteem concerns, healthcare providers can improve the mental health and overall quality of life of adult craniofacial surgery patients.

In our study, we assessed 28 different patients with Pierre-Robin Sequence, comprising 13 females and 15 males. The youngest patient was 2 months old, while the oldest was 22 years old. The mean age of the patients was 4.75 years, with a median of 3 years and a standard deviation of 5.36 years.
Among the patients, 6 exhibited psychiatric disorders, split between 4 males and 2 females. Their average age was 10 years, with a median of 9 years and a standard deviation of 4.2. The youngest patient with evidence of a psychiatric disorder was 5 years old.
Conclusions
This study underscores a concerning reality within the Pierre-Robin population, pointing to a high prevalence of psychiatric disorders. These findings highlight the urgent need for integrated care, emphasizing the importance of early psychiatric assessment and tailored interventions to enhance the overall well-being of individuals facing the challenges of PRS.
We tested 85 isolates of β-hemolytic Streptococcus spp. against trimethoprim/sulfamethoxazole (TMP/SMX), clindamycin, and doxycycline by broth microdilution (BMD) and BD Phoenix. Susceptibility rates via BMD for TMP/SMX, clindamycin, and doxycycline were 100%, 85.5%, and 56.6%, respectively. TMP/SMX is a potential monotherapy agent for β-hemolytic Streptococcus skin and soft tissue infections.
Virtual reality exposure therapy (VRET) is a treatment in a virtual environment based on the representation of a patient’s disease in virtual reality. VRET means getting used to a specific situation by intentionally facing the patient’s fearful situation based on the ‘exposure technique.’ By repeatedly exposing the patient to a fearful situation, in the end, inducing the intensity of fear to decrease without avoiding the situation. Virtual reality exposure therapy (VRET) was initially used to treat phobias, anxiety disorders, and stress. It has been proven to be an effective psychotherapy method mainly focusing on acrophobia, flight phobia, arachnophobia, social phobia, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
Objectives
Virtual reality exposure therapy (VRET) is used to treat phobias, anxiety disorders, and stress. The virtual reality treatment system can reproduce virtual scenes with the environment modified or removed, and can familiarize patients with such environments. This study aims to verify the degree of improvement of the symptoms of panic disorder by conducting VRET that we have made considering the degree of gradual exposure to the panic disorder group and the control group.
Methods
A total of 60 subjects were included in this study, including 43 patients with panic disorder and 17 control group. Subjects were systematically exposed to specific situations over five steps. We checked the heart rate, body temperature, EEG and symptoms before and after exposure using the following assessment instruments; Subjective Units of Discomfort (SUD), Anxiety Sensitivity Index (ASI), Panic Disorder Severity Scale. Repeated measures ANOVA was performed separately for presence, SUDS (distress) scores, and PDSS across time points.
Results
In the patient group, the program proved to be effective as the sensitivity to anxiety decreased significantly after the VR program (F=3.570, p<0.05). Among the subcategories of ASI, the fear of anxiety symptoms showed statistical significance between sessions (F=3.883, p<0.05) and in the interaction between group and time (F=4.585, p<0.01). The study confirmed the effectiveness of the VR program in situations that mainly induce panic attacks in patients diagnosed with panic disorder (elevator riding, driving a car, driving a car in a tunnel, driving a car in rain). The program effect was significant through repeated measurement ANOVA for each variable of EEG (Alpha, Beta, Delta, Gamma, Theta) (F=3.249, p<0.01).
Conclusions
VRET is the process of gradually being exposed to fear stimuli, deliberately confronting and experiencing a fear situation, and learning that nothing dangerous will happen. Even if the patient experiences bodily sensations that are the subject of fear, they can reduce their fear of bodily sensations by repeatedly confirming that they are safe and getting used to them.
Power spectral analysis is the most common method of quantitative electroencephalogram (qEEG) techniques and enables investigation of the microstructure of insomnia. Previous spectral analysis studies on insomnia have shown inconsistent results due to their heterogeneity and small sample sizes.
Objectives
We compared the difference of electroencephalogram (EEG) spectral power during sleep among participants without insomnia, insomniacs with no hypnotic use, hypnotic users with no insomnia complaints, and hypnotic users with insomnia complaints.
Methods
We used the Sleep Heart Health Study data, which is large sample size and has good quality control. The fast Fourier transformation was used to calculate the EEG power spectrum for total sleep duration within contiguous 30-second epochs of sleep. For 1,985 participants, EEG spectral power was compared among the groups while adjusting for potential confounding factors that could affect sleep EEG.
Results
The power spectra during total sleep differed significantly among the groups in all frequency bands (p corr < 0.001). We found that quantitative EEG spectral power in the beta and sigma bands of total sleep differed (p corr < 0.001) between participants without insomnia and hypnotic users with insomnia complaints after controlling for potential confounders. The higher beta and sigma power were found in the hypnotic users with insomnia complaints than in the non-insomnia participants.
Conclusions
This study suggests differences in the microstructures of polysomnography-derived sleep EEG between the insomnia groups.
This study aimed to analyse the computed tomography parameters for effective ventilation in patients with adhesive otitis media.
Methods
Twenty-six patients with unilateral adhesive otitis media were included in the study. The patients’ temporal bone computed tomography images were retrospectively reviewed. Eustachian tube length and diameter were measured. Mastoid pneumatisation and middle-ear size were evaluated by measuring petroclival and Eustachian tube–tympanic cavity ventilation angles.
Results
The average Eustachian tube length was 38.4 mm and 38.9 mm in adhesive otitis media and healthy ears, respectively. The Eustachian tube diameter of the adhesive otitis media ears (1.47 mm) was significantly narrower than that of the healthy ears (1.83 mm). There were no significant differences in the angles between adhesive otitis media and healthy ears.
Conclusion
A narrow Eustachian tube diameter was associated with developing adhesive otitis media. Measuring Eustachian tube diameter is simple and can be routinely performed when examining temporal bone computed tomography images for Eustachian tube function evaluation.
Background: There is presently no cure for locomotor deficits after spinal cord injury (SCI). Very few therapies effectively target the brain due to poor understanding of the brain’s role post-SCI. Newly developed tissue clearing techniques have permitted unbiased three-dimensional circuit analysis, opening new opportunities for SCI-related brain interrogation. Methods: We established a novel brain interrogation pipeline by optimizing mouse brain clearing, imaging, and atlas registration. We leveraged a spontaneous recovery lateral hemisection model to analyze whole brain cell activity and connectivity with the lumbar cord using cFos immunolabelling and virus-mediated projection tracing. We identified a functionally and anatomically dynamic region correlating with recovery and interrogated its locomotor role with optogenetics. We assessed deep brain electrical stimulation (DBS) of this region in a more clinically relevant rat contusion SCI using an established bipedal robotic interface. Results: We unexpectedly uncovered the lateral hypothalamus (LH) to functionally and anatomically correlate with recovery. LHVglut2 optogenetic stimulation significantly augmented locomotor function. LH DBS in rats acutely robustly augmented bipedal locomotion post-SCI. Conclusions: This is the first demonstration of the LH’s role in locomotion post-SCI and is a novel DBS target that robustly augmented locomotor function, dependent on LH glutamatergic cells. LH DBS may be a promising intervention in humans.
We investigated the effects of transcranial alternating stimulation (tACS) in patients with insomnia. Nine patients with chronic insomnia underwent two in-laboratory polysomnography, 2 weeks apart, and were randomized to receive tACS either during the first or second study. The stimulation was applied simultaneously and bilaterally at F3/M1 and F4/M2 electrodes (0.75 mA, 0.75 Hz, 5-minute). Sleep onset latency and wake after sleep onset dropped on the stimulation night but they did not reach statistical significance; however, there were significant improvements in spontaneous and total arousals, sleep quality, quality of life, recall memory, sleep duration, sleep efficiency, and daytime sleepiness.
Pear psyllids (Hemiptera: Psylloidea: Psyllidae: Cacopsylla spp.) belong to the most serious pests of pear (Pyrus spp.). They damage pear trees by excessive removal of phloem sap, by soiling the fruits with honeydew which, in turn, provides a substrate for sooty mould, and by transmission of Candidatus Phytoplasma spp., the causal agents of the pear decline disease. The morphological similarity, the presence of seasonal dimorphism that affects adult colour, size and wing morphology and uncritical use of species names, led to much confusion in the taxonomy of pear psyllids. As a result, pear psyllids have been frequently misidentified. Many of the entries attributed to Cacopsylla pyricola and other species in the GenBank are misidentifications which led to additional, unnecessary confusion. Here we analysed DNA barcodes of 11 pear psyllid species from eastern Asia, Europe and Iran using four mitochondrial gene fragments (COI 658 bp, COI 403 bp, COI-tRNAleu-COII 580 bp and 16S rDNA 452 bp). The efficiency of identification was notably high and considerable barcoding gaps were observed in all markers. Our results confirm the synonymies of the seasonal forms of Cacopsylla jukyungi ( = C. cinereosignata, winter form) and C. maculatili ( = C. qiuzili, summer form) previously suggested based on morphology. Some previous misidentifications (C. chinensis from China, Japan and Korea = misidentification of C. jukyungi; C. pyricola and C. pyrisuga from East Asia = misidentification of C. jukyungi and C. burckhardti, respectively; C. pyricola from Iran = misidentification of C. bidens, C. pyri and Cacopsylla sp.) are also corrected. There is no evidence for the presence of European pear psyllid species in East Asia.
Infectious diseases, such as Helicobacter pylori, which produce systemic inflammation may be one key factor in the onset of autoimmunity. The association between H. pylori and antinuclear antibodies (ANA), a marker of autoimmunity, has been understudied. Data from the 1999–2000 National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey were used to evaluate the cross-sectional association between H. pylori seroprevalence and ANA positivity in US adults aged ≥20 years. ANA was measured in a 1:80 dilution of sera by indirect immunofluorescence using HEp-2 cells (positive ⩾3). H. pylori immunoglobulin G enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays were used to categorise individuals as seropositive or seronegative. H. pylori seropositivity and ANA positivity were common in the adult US population, with estimated prevalences of 33.3% and 9.9%, respectively. Both were associated with increasing age. H. pylori seropositivity was associated with higher odds of ANA (prevalence odds ratio = 1.89, 95% confidence interval = 1.08–3.33), adjusted for age, sex, race/ethnicity, educational attainment and body mass index. H. pylori infection may be one key factor in the loss of self-tolerance, contributing to immune dysfunction.
The present model is devoted for the steady stagnation point flow of a Williamson micropolar nanofluid with magneto-hydrodynamics and thermal radiation effects passed over a horizontal porous stretching sheet. The fluid is considered to be gray, absorbing-emitting but non-scattering medium. The Cogley-Vincent-Gilles formulation is adopted to simulate the radiation component of heat transfer. By applying similarity analysis, the governing partial differential equations are transformed into a set of non-linear ordinary differential equations and they are solved by using the bvp4c package in MATLAB. Numerical computations are carried out for various values of the physical parameters. The effects of momentum, microrotation, temperature and nanoparticle volume fraction profiles together with the reduced skin friction coefficient, reduced Nusselt number and reduced Sherwood number of both active and passive controls on the wall mass flux are graphically presented. The present results are compared with previously obtained solutions and they are in good agreement. Results show that the skin friction is increasing functions of the Williamson parameter in both stretching and shrinking surfaces.
The system Na2O-CaO-MgO Al2O3-SiO2-H2O is proposed to model phase equilibria and mineral parageneses for low-temperature metamorphism of basaltic rocks. Univariant reactions marking the transitions between various sub-greenschist facies are identified and some have been experimentally determined. The introduction of Fe2O3 into the model system at fixed FeO/MgO ratio creates continuous reactions for facies boundaries and discontinuous reactions for invariant points of the model system. Both qualitative and quantitative effects on P-T displacement and phase compositions are discussed. The XFe3+ isopleths for epidote were plotted to exemplify the transition from the zeolite through prehnite-pumpellyite to prehnite-actinolite facies. T-XFe3+ relations were established for continuous and discontinuous reactions relating such facies transitions. Because of the common occurrence of two or three Ca-Al hydrosilicates in low-grade metabasites, an isobaric Al-Ca-Fe3+ projection from chlorite may be used to illustrate mineral assemblages and compositions of the coexisting Ca-Al silicates in the presence of quartz, albite, and chlorite. Reported occurrences in several classic burial metamorphic terrains and ocean-floor metabasites in ophiolites are described. Only the composition of a mineral from a buffered assemblage can constrain the intensive properties for metamorphism; previously reported compositional trends for pumpellyite and epidote with increasing metamorphic grade are oversimplified.
Background:ATP8A2 mutations have only recently been associated with human disease. We present the clinical features from the largest cohort of patients with this disorder reported to date. Methods: An observational study of 9 unreported and 2 previously reported patients with biallelic ATP8A2 mutations was carried out at multiple centres. Results: The mean age of the cohort was 9.4 years old (range: 2.5-28 yrs). All patients demonstrated developmental delay, severe hypotonia and movement disorders: chorea/choreoathetosis (100%), dystonia (27%) or facial dyskinesia (18%). Hypotonia was apparent at birth (70%) or before 6 months old (100%). Optic atrophy was observed in 75% of patients who had a funduscopic examination. MRI of the brain was normal for most patients with a small proportion showing mild cortical atrophy (30%), delayed myelination (20%) and/or hypoplastic optic nerves (20%). Epilepsy was seen in two older patients. Conclusions:ATP8A2 gene mutations have emerged as a cause of a novel phenotype characterized by developmental delay, severe hypotonia and hyperkinetic movement disorders. Optic atrophy is common and may only become apparent in the first few years of life, necessitating repeat ophthalmologic evaluation. Early recognition of the cardinal features of this condition will facilitate diagnosis of this disorder.
Human bocaviruses (HBoVs) have been detected in human gastrointestinal infections worldwide. In 2005, HBoV was also discovered in infants and children with infections of the lower respiratory tract. Recently, several genotypes of this parvovirus, including HBoV genotype 2 (HBoV2), genotype 3 (HBoV3) and genotype 4 (HBoV4), were discovered and found to be closely related to HBoV. HBoV2 was first detected in stool samples from children in Pakistan, followed by detection in other countries. HBoV3 was detected in Australia and HBoV4 was identified in stool samples from Nigeria, Tunisia and the USA. Recently, HBoV infection has been on the rise throughout the world, particularly in countries neighbouring South Korea; however, there have been very few studies on Korean strains. In this study, we characterised the whole genome and determined the phylogenetic position of CUK-BC20, a new clinical HBoV strain isolated in South Korea. The CUK-BC20 genome of 5184 nucleotides (nt) contains three open-reading frames (ORFs). The genotype of CUK-BC20 is HBoV2, and 98.77% of its nt sequence is identical with those of other HBoVs, namely Rus-Nsc10-N386. Especially, the ORF3 amino acid sequences from positions 212–213 and 454 corresponding to a variable region (VR)1 and VR5, respectively, showed genotype-specific substitutions that distinguished the four HBoV genotypes. As the first whole-genome sequence analysis of HBoV in South Korea, this information will provide a valuable reference for the detection of recombination, tracking of epidemics and development of diagnosis methods for HBoV.
The payload capacity of a conventional robot is usually limited as compared to the mass of the robot body. This is because a payload adds additional gravity loadings to the robot joints resulting in large input joint torques. To reduce the required input joint torques, the authors have proposed a mechanical balancing mechanism. Basically, the mechanism was designed to exactly balance the first three links of an articulated robot by adjusting the positions of counter-balancing masses so as to eliminate the gravity loading terms. Since the input joint torques are greatly reduced by adopting balancing mechanisms, a balanced robot is expected to carry heavier payload and move with higher speed and acceleration. This paper further investigates the possibilities of improving the payload capacity as well as speed and acceleration capabilities. These features were investigated under various operating conditions involving payload, maximum angular velocity, and acceleration period. Based upon the simulation results, the performances of the balanced robot are compared in detail with those of a unbalanced conventional robot.
Noroviruses (NoVs) are major causal agents of acute gastroenteritis in humans. NoV GII.4 is the predominant genotype globally. However, uncommon and minor types of NoVs are consistently detected and some have been shown to dominate over GII.4. Therefore, the prevalence of dominant and uncommon NoVs makes the identification of these viruses important for the prediction and prevention of pandemics. In this study, the full-genome sequence of a NoV (strain JW) detected in Korea was extensively characterized. The full-length genome was 7510 nucleotides long, and phylogenetic analysis based on the whole-genome sequences, including open reading frame (ORF)1, ORF2, and ORF3, indicated that it belonged to the GII.21 genotype. Strain JW showed maximum identity with strain YO284; however, comparison of the amino acid sequence of ORF2, which functions as an antigen, showed substitutions in several amino acids. GII.21 is not a prevalent epidemiological agent of acute gastroenteritis in humans, but it is consistently found in gastroenteritis patients from several countries. The present study provides the first full-genome sequence analysis of NoV GII.21 isolated from a patient in Korea. Our findings provide not only valuable genome information but also data for epidemiology studies, epidemic prevention, and vaccine development strategies.
Schizophrenia patients have a higher prevalence of type 2 diabetes mellitus with impaired glucose tolerance (IGT) than normals. We examined the relationship between IGT and clinical phenotypes or cognitive deficits in first-episode, drug-naïve (FEDN) Han Chinese patients with schizophrenia.
Method
A total of 175 in-patients were compared with 31 healthy controls on anthropometric measures and fasting plasma levels of glucose, insulin and lipids. They were also compared using a 75 g oral glucose tolerance test and the homeostasis model assessment of insulin resistance (HOMA-IR). Neurocognitive functioning was assessed using the MATRICS Consensus Cognitive Battery (MCCB). Patient psychopathology was assessed using the Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale (PANSS).
Results
Of the patients, 24.5% had IGT compared with none of the controls, and they also had significantly higher levels of fasting blood glucose and 2-h glucose after an oral glucose load, and were more insulin resistant. Compared with those patients with normal glucose tolerance, the IGT patients were older, had a later age of onset, higher waist or hip circumference and body mass index, higher levels of low-density lipoprotein and triglycerides and higher insulin resistance. Furthermore, IGT patients had higher PANSS total and negative symptom subscale scores, but no greater cognitive impairment except on the emotional intelligence index of the MCCB.
Conclusions
IGT occurs with greater frequency in FEDN schizophrenia, and shows association with demographic and anthropometric parameters, as well as with clinical symptoms but minimally with cognitive impairment during the early course of the disorder.
We present recent observation results of Sgr A* at millimeter obtained with VLBI arrays in Korea and Japan.
7 mm monitoring of Sgr A* is part of our AGN large project. The results at 7 epochs during 2013-2014, including high resolution maps, flux density and two-dimensional size measurements are presented. The source shows no significant variation in flux and structure related to the G2 encounter in 2014. According to recent MHD simulations by kawashima et al., flux and magnetic field energy can be expected to increase several years after the encounter; We will keep our monitoring in order to test this prediction.
Astrometric observations of Sgr A* were performed in 2015 at 7 and 3.5 millimeter simultaneously. Source-frequency phase referencing was applied and a combined ”core-shift” of Sgr A* and a nearby calibrator was measured. Future observations and analysis are necessary to determine the core-shift in each source.
