Description

Hugo Conwentz (1855–1922) was a German botanist and conservationist. In this book, which was first published in 1909, Conwentz provides a guide to the protection of various natural habitats, with a particular focus on Britain and Germany. The text was based on a lecture about 'the Care of Natural Monuments', which was given at the Leicester meeting of the British Association for the Advancement of Science during August 1907. Illustrative figures are incorporated throughout. This book will be of value to anyone with an interest in the development of conservation and the history of science.
