Press titles named “Outstanding Academic Titles 2017”
We're delighted to announce that 30 Press titles have been chosen for the prestigious Outstanding Academic Titles 2017 list in Choice magazine, which sees only ten percent of approximately 6,000 eligible reviewed titles awarded. This is up from an already high level of 26 last year.
Choice: Current Reviews for Academic Libraries is a publication of the Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL). Every year in the January issue, Choice publishes their list of chosen Outstanding Academic Titles that were reviewed during the previous year.
The criteria for selection in this list includes overall the reviewer's evaluation, excellence in presentation and scholarship, importance relative to other literature in the field, distinction as a first treatment of a given subject in book or electronic form, originality or uniqueness of treatment, value to undergraduate students, and importance in building undergraduate library collections.
Mandy Hill, Managing Director of Academic Publishing at the Press, said: 'We're thrilled that 30 Cambridge books have been included in Choice's Outstanding Academic Titles list this year. It's a testament to the excellence of our publishing programme, and the robust scholarship and dedication of our authors and editors. We're very proud to have received this recognition from the academic library community.'
