Real World Written Genre and Writing Skills

Real World Written Genre and Writing Skills

Date: Monday 9 November

Time: 15:00

The increased uptake in information technology in the past twenty or so years has resulted in the creation of new written genre. It could also be argued that it has resulted in an overall increase in written communication. This webinar will examine real world written genre associated with information technology and consider some of the implications of the way these genre inform our approach to writing lessons in English language classrooms. We will also explore some specific writing sub-skills associated with these genres and how these can help our learners become more effective communicators in a twenty-first century, digital world.
