African Studies Association

Hello and welcome! We hope that you and families are keeping well in the era of social distancing. In light of COVID-19 we've decided to take our exhibit stands online. It’s not like being at the event in person, but we hope it offers at least some semblance of normality during this challenging time. Below you will find a list of the books we would have had on display, as well as information on who to contact if you are interested in publishing with us. We've also increased our online discount so that being at home doesn't mean you have to miss out on conference prices, if you're in the market for a good book that is. If not, then perhaps just close your eyes for a moment and pretend you’re in the exhibit hall, about to head off to the wine reception or grab a coffee….

And now that you've got yourself that all important drink, how about a quick word from one of our editors:

Message from the Editor

I am responsible for the book commissioning in the area of African studies at the Press. We publish within established series such as the African Studies Series, the New Approaches to African History series and the International African Library. We also boast a brand new series, African Identities, as well as numerous monographs, coursebooks and textbooks published as stand-alone books. Do feel free to be in touch to discuss submitting a proposal, and I will be glad to talk you through our publishing processes.

If journals are more your thing, then here are a few that we think might be of particular interest.
