This special Bible, for the discerning Bible scholar, offers the much admired Concord text in a superlative flexible black goatskin leather binding, edge-lined with Kidrel. It is printed on a smooth, opaque and resilient paper with art-gilt edges, and includes two ribbon markers to help find the reader's place.

I have purchased three of the different leather binding options of this particular Bible: the wide-margin GOATSKIN, the wide-margin CALF-SPLIT, and the no longer available CALFSKIN. The perks of the goatskin version of this, is that it is extremely supple, with a leather hinge that connects the leather cover to the actual binding. This lasts longer than the heavy paper hinge of the other two versions, which often cracks and breaks over time. If you are reading this Bible consistently from a table or lectern where it is laying flat, then this is for you. HOWEVER, if you will be holding it often in your hands as you sit and read, or holding it in one hand as your preach / teach from it, then the floppiness of the goatskin becomes rather tedious, since it requires two hands to hold it out flat. If Cambridge Press were to ever come out with a wide-margin calfskin that had a longer-lasting leather hinge instead of a paper one, it would undoubtedly be the best of both worlds...one I would buy in a heartbeat!!! - still my favorite layout and binding of any other Bible!
