Time for Speaking

Time for Speaking

Date: Thursday 30 November 2017

Time: 15:00 GMT

Oral fluency practice is not always given the classroom time it needs. In this webinar, we'll be looking at the reasons why speaking activities are so important and asking, how much time we should be giving to speaking practice? Our main focus will be to explore time given to managing the speaking parts of a lesson. The topics will include planning time before the main speaking activity, the use of time limits, ways of repeating tasks so that students get the maximum benefit from them, and post-speaking activities where students reflect on the work they have just done.
