Penny Ur UK Roadshow May 2016
At the end of May Penny Ur visited Cambridge, London, Edinburgh and Newcastle and shared her top tips for teaching English, based on her latest book, Penny Ur's 100 Teaching Tips.
The venues were brimming with teachers keen to learn from her 40 years' teaching experience. The audience enjoyed the informal atmosphere and ample opportunity to ask Penny questions.
The book itself also generated strong interest from the teachers as it is full of very useful tips, for experienced and novice ELT teachers alike. One of the guests who has been teaching for years said that it has already become one of her most-used titles. After her talk, Penny stayed on for a book signing session and more 1-to-1 questions.
Here are just a few quotes from the attendees:
"OMG, let me put my drink down, because I'm shaking so much, I'm going to spill it. It's such an honour to meet you, Penny Ur."
"This is exactly the sort of event that independent teachers like me need, just to keep our finger on the pulse of ELT methodology."
"It was just the right mix of experience and advice."
