The Cameo Edition is a classic Cambridge typesetting of the King James Version, originally produced in the 1920s for letterpress printing. It has been widely admired by generations of readers for its solution to the Bible designer's dilemma of readable type in a manageable size. Unavailable for a while, the Cameo Reference Edition is re-issued in response to continued consumer interest, in a new range of binding styles. The reissue has offered an opportunity for the print image to be enhanced, so while the text is presented in the same familiar layout and the original Petit Medieval Clarendon type, it is now sharper than in printings of recent years. The re-origination process has offered an opportunity to fix a number of the more prominent flaws (including, for example, some instances of broken type and extraneous marks) that had gradually become part of the Cameo image over the lifetime of the edition, especially during the conversion to more modern forms of reproduction. So while the text presents the same familiar layout and the original Petit Medieval Clarendon type, it is now somewhat cleaner than in some recent past printings of the edition. The Bible comes with a concordance and 15 colour maps. The text has pronunciation marks for names and the words of Christ on earth are printed in red. It is printed on India paper with gilt edges and has a presentation page and two ribbon markers. The decoratively stitched cover is made of soft black imitation leather.Read more

I bought two of these bibles and have no regrets. Overall quality is excellent. The synthetic covering is smooth and soft, pleasant to hold and handle. I like the quality look of the edge stitching. If the covering wears well I would have no complaints with it. Inside, the paper used is thin, opaque, with a soft smoothness. Printing quality overall is very high on mine. The bible lays flat and pages turn smoothly. I would like to see an indexed model. My only complaint would be with the pricing. Even discounted it is too expensive for an imitation leather covering, in my opinion. Because of that I think one is better off spending a bit more for a real leather model. Overall I am satisfied with my purchases. Aside from the price, I would recommend this bible for its size, readability, and quality.
