About the Authors
  • The Turquoise Reference Bible was originally created in the 1920s and has stood as a superb and well-loved example of classic Cambridge typographic design for ninety years. The text is presented in a large, bold, traditional typeface, with cross-references and the words of Christ while on Earth are printed in red. For this edition the concordance has been freshly typeset, and it also includes a map section and the Translators' preface, their compelling account of the principles underlying the publication of the KJV in 1611. The Bible is printed on fine India paper and fully sewn, allowing it to lie flat when in use and adding extra durability. It has gilt-edged pages and is bound in black calf split leather. The large format, superior materials and manufacturing excellence make this a perfect choice as a Family Bible or a desk or presentation Bible for those in Christian ministry.

    • A re-issue of the classic KJV Bible, also previously published as both Family Bible and Presentation Reference editions
    • Generously sized, bold print is clear and easy to read
    • The concordance is freshly designed and typeset

I have been trying everywhere to find letter type size and to see what the pages look like. Very poor description on the website.

Why is there so little information offered on this otherwise beautiful KJV Bible? Big price with little detail.

For the KJV Turquoise Reference Calf split leahter. This an excellent bible. It is the cheapest iteration of the the Cambridge Turquoise KJVs but is nevertheless a super choice for a lifetime's use. The book is of sound construction and bound in a durable leather. The 'melting quality' of the premium goatsjin binding is indeed lovely but not to everyone's taste. The Calf split is stiffer than the gotaskin so may appeal to some who find goatskin edge-lined versions a bit too floppy in the hand, One of the most appealing things about the Turquoise version is that all three bindings use the Old Antique No,3 type, which is bold authoritative, and easy to read. Personally I'm not so keen on pronunciation helps embededi in the text, and would prefer an all black print, though I have learned to live with both lately. The paper used has a wonderful look and feel to it. This bible's size and weight means that it is best for home use. I have owned the goatskin version and, bindings aside, i.e. materials and pastedown vs. edge-lined, the contents and presentation are identical in execution and quality. Both are warmly recommended, the choice depends on pocket and preference as to how the bible feels in the hand.
