Storytelling and story-making for Cambridge English: Young Learners p>strong>Date: Tuesday 30 May/strong>/p> p>strong>Time: 15:00/strong>/p> p class=p1>span>In this webinar, Karen Saxby will explore the reasons why storytelling and story-making in the classroom helps young learners acquire elementary English in a fun, natural, meaningful and stress-free way. It also helps them to complete the more creative, productive tasks in em>a href=https://www.cambridge.org/cambridgeenglish/catalog/cambridge-english-exams-ielts/fun-starters-movers-and-flyers-2nd-edition target=_blank>Cambridge English: Starters, Movers and Flyers/a>/em> tests more confidently and effectively. We will consider these points in relation to Reading/Writing and Speaking tasks that learners will meet in the current tests and also in the revised versions in 2018./span>/p> p class=p1>span>Karen Saxby has produced a wealth of material for younger learners of English, with recent published works including the a href=https://www.cambridge.org/cambridgeenglish/catalog/cambridge-english-exams-ielts/fun-starters-movers-and-flyers-2nd-edition target=_blank>em>Fun/em> em>For series for Starters, Movers and Flyers/em>/a>, the em>a href=https://www.cambridge.org/cambridgeenglish/catalog/cambridge-english-exams-ielts/storyfun-2nd-edition target=_blank>Story Fun/a>/em> series and em>a href=https://www.cambridge.org/cambridgeenglish/catalog/cambridge-english-exams-ielts/ket-schools-trainer target=_blank>KET for Schools Trainer/a>/em>, all written for Cambridge University Press. /span>/p> p class=p1>span>Karen has an RSA TEFL diploma and a first class degree in Linguistics and French. She left the classroom to focus on a full-time career as a writer of teaching and testing material for students of English, with a particular interest in producing material for young learners. Karen has given talks and delivered workshops to teachers in various countries on behalf of Cambridge Assessment.
