Cambridge Literature

Cambridge Literature is a series of literary texts, edited by teachers for students. It includes writing from various genres such as novels, short stories, poetry, and essays, and covers a wide variety of cultures and time periods. Each text contains an introduction to the volume, the complete text-uninterrupted by footnotes or references-resource notes, a glossary, a reading list, and a section on the cultural and literary context in which the volume was written. The series draws on various aspects of current literary theory, emphasizing the critical and dynamic relationship between reader and text. It is characterized by an interactive approach to literature, including the use of dramatic role play, imaginative writing, and media work.
