Of all the famous Cambridge editions of the Bible this one is particularly handsome. The text is 'black print' with a very readable font and font size, and there is just the plain, pure text on each page with no distractions. If you want a classic, plain, pure and unadorned King James Bible this is the standard edition available. When I look at mine laying on the table right now it looks like it could've been in the pack-saddle of a conquistador in the New World, or on the work bench of John Bunyan, or in the hands of a missionary on a great sailing ship in the eighteenth century, or in the possession of a settler on the Great Plains of the United States in the nineteenth century... amazon reviewer from California
