The Alternative Service Book was issued as an authorized Church of England liturgy in 1980. This prayer book offers the Rite A communion service, the modern-language liturgy used in most churches. As it only contains the Eucharist service, it is light and easy to hold. This book is designed for the person taking the service and has large, clear print with blue rubrics and bold text for the congregation's responses. It offers the additional benefit of music for the chanted sections. It is bound in attractive blue imitation leather blocked with the ASB design.
