ICRC Commentaries On The Geneva Conventions
About the series: The application and interpretation of the four Geneva Conventions of 1949 and their two Additional Protocols of 1977 have developed significantly in the sixty years since the ICRC first published its Commentaries on these important humanitarian treaties. With this in mind, the ICRC commissioned a comprehensive update of the original Commentaries. Using an article-by-article approach, the new series provides up-to-date interpretations of each treaty. It is an essential tool for anyone working or studying within this field.
There are currently two books publiched in the Commentaries on the 1949 Geneva Conventions series, Commentary on the First Genevan Convention: Convention (l) for the Amelioration of the Condition of the Wounded and Sick in Armed Forces in the Field and Commentary on the Second Geneva Convention: Convention (II) for the Amelioration of the Condition of Wounded, Sick and Shipwrecked Members of Armed Forces at Sea.
