Cambridge Medical Reviews: Haematological Oncology
Cambridge Medical Reviews, a programme of review volumes for the clinical sciences, focuses attention on fields in which rapid and continuing advances in biomedical science have improved significantly our understanding and treatment of disease. Each review series is dedicated to a single, clinical discipline. The purpose is to provide a regular evaluation of, and commentary on, the growth of knowledge on that subject. Rigorous standards of selection and editing ensure a reliable and topical series of volumes which will meet the requirements of clinicians and research workers alike. The recent rapid growth of knowledge in molecular biology has had far-reaching implications for the understanding, diagnosis and management of haematological malignant disease. The response of many conditions to treatment, and the ease with which patient material can be repeatedly sampled, have made this a fruitful area of study, and in parallel with the expanding contribution of molecular biology there has been a growing awareness of the importance of epidemiology, techniques of drug administration, patient support and the evaluation of treatment results.Haematological Oncology will serve as a regular forum for the evaluation and dissemination of this new information, and the topics selected for review range from basic science to clinical applications. This series provides a comprehensive and up-to-date review of the current state of research and will be an important source of information and knowledge for oncologists, immunologists, postgraduate trainees and other clinical and laboratory workers in the field.
