Society and Politics in Modern European History
Society and Politics in Modern European History is a major new textbook initiative, intended to provide authoritative statements of fresh approaches to major themes in European history over the last two hundred years. The volumes will provide comprehensive and penetrating surveys of the existing literature, and will place a particular emphasis on the discussion of avenues for further inquiry, aiming to set new agendas rather than merely replicating existing controversies. Written for upper-level undergraduates and graduate students the series aims to provide the essential background for an understanding of the new phase in the development of Europe which began in 1989.
