Welcome

Hello and welcome!  We hope that you and families are keeping well in the era of social distancing.  In light of COVID-19 we've decided to take our exhibit stands online.  It’s not like being at the event in person, but we hope it offers at least some semblance of normality during this challenging time.  Below you will find a list of the books we would have had on display, as well as information on who to contact if you are interested in publishing with us.  We've also increased our online discount so that being at home doesn't mean you have to miss out on conference prices, if you're in the market for a good book that is.  If not, then perhaps just close your eyes for a moment and pretend you’re in the exhibit hall, about to head off to the wine reception or grab a coffee….

And now that you've got yourself that all important drink, how about a quick word from two of our editors:

Message from the editor

I’m sorry that I am unable to meet our authors and other colleagues at this year’s APS-DPP. I would be pleased to hear from you, to discuss any feedback on our existing books, or suggestions and ideas for new writing projects (textbooks, Student’s Guides, Elements, academic monographs and reference works). Please contact me by email in the first instance, and I’ll endeavour to follow up, whether by email, Skype or telephone, at your convenience. In the meantime, please take advantage of our virtual catalogue. I look forward to seeing you at the next meeting!

Message from the editor

It’s disappointing not to be able to attend APS-DPP in person. However, I am excited to introduce a Special Issue in Journal of Plasma Physics – ‘Status of the SPARC Physics Basis’ (more details below) which along with the journal’s continuing virtual colloquia is cementing JPP’s growth as the intellectual home of plasma physics.

High Power Laser Science and Engineering is another of Cambridge’s journals at the forefront of high energy density physics and plasma research. HPL is excited to present HPL Letters: short communications of original research that are of highest quality and particular urgency. Enjoy the online conference and I look forward to seeing your research published through our plasma physics journals at Cambridge.

Journals

If journals are more your thing, then here are a few that we think might be of particular interest.

Conference Offers

30% Discount

We have increased our online discount to 30% to match the offer that would have been available to delegates at our conference stand.  Regrettably, the online offer is limited to certain countries (for the full list of the countries included in the offer please see  www.cambridge.org/conferencediscount ), however our customer services team are more than happy to accept orders offline and will honour the discount for customers in all countries where trading sanctions do not apply.  Please contact orders@cambridge.org with your order details and reference the conference discount code noted below.

Free Shipping

It’s not your fault that you can’t buy a book from us in person at the moment so we will also be offering free shipping on all online orders for books included in this promotion.  For full terms and conditions please visit www.cambridge.org/freeconferencedelivery

Special Offers

Journal of Plasma Physics Special Issue: Status of the SPARC Physics Basis

This special issue’s seven peer-reviewed research articles provide a comprehensive summary of the physics basis for SPARC: a compact, high-field, DT burning tokamak, currently under design by a team from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Commonwealth Fusion Systems. The SPARC project builds on a remarkable period of progress in the understanding of magnetically confined plasmas achieved collectively by the world’s fusion programs.
