Press title named PROSE Award for Excellence in Reference

Press-published Roman Architecture and Urbanism: From the Origins to Late Antiquity by Fikret Yegül and Diane Favro has been named the 2020 PROSE Award for Excellence in Reference Works.

This selection is one of five award winners named by the Association of American Publishers, recognizing the best in class in the categories of Biological & Life Sciences, Humanities, Physical Sciences & Mathematics, Reference Works, and Social Sciences. You can view the full list here.

Roman Architecture and Urbanism was one of six Subject Category Winners published by the Press, also including Climate, Clothing, and Agriculture in Prehistory, Biblical Theology (co-winner), The Holocaust and New World Slavery, The Atlas of Mars, and Global Environmental Outlook – GEO-6. The Press had 21 finalists in total in 2020.

Since 1976, AAP’s annual PROSE Awards have recognized publishers who produce books, journals, and digital products of extraordinary merit that make a significant contribution to a field of study each year. A panel of judges from across the publishing industry, from publishers to librarians to medical professionals, volunteer their time and expertise to determine PROSE Finalists, Subject Category Winners, Excellence Winners, and ultimately, the top R.R. Hawkins Award winner.
