About the Authors
  • First published in 1928, as the third edition of a 1916 original, this book was written to provide the general reader with a guide to the history of Europe from the aftermath of the Battle of Waterloo up until the outbreak of World War One. Throughout the text a chronological perspective is maintained, so as to show how various European trends, such as German and Italian unification, advanced together. Numerous maps are included and notes are incorporated throughout. This book will be of value to anyone with an interest in European history and nineteenth-century history.
