About the Authors
  • Originally published in 1905, as part of the Cambridge English Classics series, this volume contains the complete text of Prior's Poems on Several Occasions, taken from the folio of 1718. An appendix section also provides variants found in the acknowledged edition of 1709, together with variants from unacknowledged sources, including the repudiated collection of 1707. The text forms the companion volume to Dialogues of the Dead and Other Works in Prose and Verse, which was published as part of the same series in 1907. This book will be of value to anyone with an interest in the works of Prior and their contribution to the development of English literature.
