Tutor-led training services
If you have a group of teachers with the same development needs, or your teachers need more personalised support than a self-study course can provide, choose our tutor-led training.
Teacher Development Programmes
Our programmes are based on the principles of effective teacher development and delivered by experienced online tutors. They provide comprehensive coverage of key topics with personalised feedback and guidance.
Choose our tailored programmes and experienced Cambridge trainers will create customised plans that meet the unique needs of each teacher.
Our experienced trainers will work with you to understand your requirements before visiting your institution to deliver face-to-face sessions that meet the specific needs of your teachers.
For more information and to discuss your requirements, contact your local Cambridge office.
Blended courses for CELT-P and CELT-S
The Certificate in English Language Teaching for Primary (CELT-P) and Certificate in English Language Teaching for Secondary (CELT-S) are practical qualifications that help teachers to develop their teaching skills and confidence.
Our preparation courses include 120 hours of online study, plus face to face training and assessment.
Expert support for your teachers:
Our programmes are delivered by experienced tutors who will guide your teachers through the content.
Set your own schedule:
Programmes take approximately 35 hours to complete – our tutors will work with you to develop a schedule that meets your teachers’ needs while fitting around their other responsibilities.
Our tutors will help your teachers to relate the course content to the specific characteristics of your institution.
Interactive and practical learning:
Programmes contain input, interactive exercises, tasks and support for teachers to apply their learning in the classroom, and review sections.
We recommend at least 10 teachers in a group so that they can discuss their learning and share experiences with their peers.
Teachers can prove their success:
We award a Certificate of Completion at the end of the programme.
No two teachers are the same. Within your institution you will have colleagues with different levels of experience and different development needs, who learn at different paces.
Successful teacher development programmes need to be carefully designed to meet the unique needs of individual teachers and managers, but creating customised programmes for each teacher within an institution can be time consuming. Cambridge’s Tailored Programmes can help, giving you more time to focus on your learners.
Reasons to choose a tailored programme:
Expert support for you and your teachers:
All tailored programmes are developed and delivered by our experienced trainers and built on the INSPIRE principles.
Based on teachers’ individual needs:
Our trainers will work with your teachers to build a personalised development plan that addresses their unique requirements.
Plans will be designed to develop your teachers over time – from three months to a year depending on your requirements.
Deliver real results for your learners:
The development plans will use our practical interactive courses and resources, leading to sustainable improvements in the classroom.
How tailored programmes work
• Teachers take an online self-assessment, mapped to the Cambridge English Teaching Framework, highlighting areas for personal development.
• The trainer carries out a needs analysis to establish a profile of the context and requirements of teachers and learners in the institution.
The trainer designs a development plan for each teacher/group of teachers. The plan will be made up of a customised selection of our self-study courses and resources, and tutor-led training including:
• Online teacher development courses;
• Teacher Development Programmes;
• Webinars, workshops and other tutor-led support.
• Teachers work to complete their plans over an agreed period of time, supported by the trainer.
• Teachers work together to share ideas and reflect on their learning.
Check progress and impact
• Progress is monitored throughout the programme.
• The programme content and the level and type of support provided are adjusted as needed to ensure the programme delivers real, sustainable results.
