The name Pevtalia is followed by XX, and above this figure is written another that appears to be .IX. Below Pevtalia XX is the name for the next stretch Aelea, lacking a distance figure to follow here because space is lacking. It could be that XX goes with Pevtalia, and IX with Aelea, or vice versa; or conceivably XX.IX goes with Pevtalia, and Aelea has no figure. Insofar as it would be exceptional for IX with a stop preceding to stand as a figure in its own right, the third of these alternatives is perhaps to be preferred.
