   <p id="placenote1154">Two letters are visible, which can be read as "V", and then (with a stroke and gap in between) possibly "M". It seems most likely that they are part of a name for this island. If they are an ending for MARE CASPIVM (as Miller was willing to credit), it must be said that no trace of the remainder of that name appears in 10A5.</p>
